Well…actually, I kinda know how to flip since last week, but still wasnt sure how to remove my right hand from under my tummy…so Mummy feels that is considered only as a half-flip….

20 wEeKs…

I am a Tuesday baby….

I am 20 weeks old today!!!

Then…

Now…

In these 280 days, I have grown! I am now stronger, smarter, healthier, more handsome!

I have learnt the 2 most important emotions – crying and smiling.
I know I can get all the attention I want, be it hunger, when I am feeling cold, when I am in pain (esp after poke poke sessions), or just for the plain fun of it! Because everytime I cried, someone will cuddle and hug me…

The next most important emotion is smiling/laughing. Adults will do anything, and I mean ANYTHING, just to see me laugh or smile, esp my Mummy. She will make funny noises, expressions and even actions, everytime she plays with me.
And the amusing part is, everytime I laugh, they laughed too! I wonder what’s so comical about my laughter…

In these 280 days, from not being aware where my limbs were, I have learnt to grasp and drop objects, I have learnt to put every single thing I can lay my hands on into my mouth (they just taste yummy to me!!), and now, I have learnt to bend and reach for my feet with my hands!

Although I am learning new things everyday, some things just dont change, like…
I still like to be bundle-up when I sleep!

I still like to sleep with my hands above my head!

I still cramp my face together when I cry!

Today is a special day for me…and for my parents..

Last year today, Mummy discovered me in her tummy!
But unlike most Mummies, when Mummy found me inside her tummy, instead of being overjoyed, she cried uncontrollably. I came when it was a very difficult period/time for her.

One year today, here I am!! Although things are not much better for Mummy, but she is thankful that I am here for her! I am her pillar of strength now and the very reason why she is no longer living for herself.

It was meant to be a special day for Mummy today, but she is sad and disappointed…Things were where and how they used to be and it seemed to be decision-making time…

Mummy – you need to be strong!!

JaB jAb Jab…

Today is ‘Jab-Day’. I was given 2 jabs by the doctor – AGAIN!
I was given 1st DPT/DT vaccine, which is the first of 3 jabs. This vaccine is also commonly known as the 5-in-1 jab.
The 2nd jab was 2nd dose of Prevenar. This is to prevent nvasive pneumococcal disease.

I didnt cry when the doctor gave me the first jab. But when the doctor gave me my 2nd jab – Prevenar, I wailed out in pain! Learning from the 1st experience, Mummy brought my friend along to pacify me. I was distracted when he ‘talked’ to me, that I forgot I just had a jab! I didnt even shed a single tear. Even the doctor commented ‘This baby is good!’
Mummy is so proud of me that I am such a brave and strong boy.

I was so exhausted from the crying that I was fast asleep by the time we reached the car. I was abit grouchy for the rest of the day, coz both my thighs were so sore. Wai Po said that I can have ’special attention’ for the next couple of days since I had to go through the jabs. Woo Hoo!

Now that I am on full FM, the next big question is…Which is the best formula milk available in the market?

Mummy let me tried 3 different types of formula – Similac, Enfalac and Friso.

I have been on Similac since I was discharged from the hospital. But because I was also on breastmilk at the sametime, there wasnt much issue with my poo poo. However, ever since I was on full FM, I have abit of constipation, though it is still not a big issue.

Dr. Fong gave us a free tin of Friso, which Mummy tried on me as well. Wai Po like the poo poo from Friso the most. Because, its not watery, and the texture of my poo poo are like that of beancurd. But Mummy felt that Friso is abit too sweet, coz everytime I finished my milk, I will have phlegm in my throat.

It’s always known that Enfalac is the best but most expensive formula milk in the market. Mummy just wont give up without giving me a try! So, now I am on both Similac and Enfalac. In terms of prices, Similac is about $2 cheaper than Enfalac, however, the nutrition value in both formulas are quite varsely different.

For my development needs, I required: -
- DHA & ARA: Both are important building blocks for brain and eye development.
- Choline: Supports overall mental functioning.

By comparison, the results between the 2 formulas are as follows:

Choline – 82 mg
Omega 6 – 5k mg
Omega 3 – 340mg
Taurine – 34 mg
Folic Acid – 72 mcg

Enfalac
DHA -90 mg
AA -180 mg
Choline – 127 mg
Omega 6 – 4700 mg
Omega 3 – 475 mg
Taurine – 34 mg
Folic Acid – 84 mcg
SA – 195 mg

From the comparison above, it is quite clear which is a winner. On top of that, Enfalac contained SA (although I dont know what it is for). Poo Poo and phlegm wise, I do not have a problem as well.

Alot of PDs are using these 2 brands themselves. In the market, it’s rumoured that Similac is more oily whilst Enfalac is more heaty. Hence, most PDs alternate between both formulas. Mummy intend to do that as well, but only after checking with my PD.

Now, I can finished 1 tin of formula milk in 1.5 weeks, so that adds up to about $200 every month. Mummy doesnt even want to think about the cost as I grow older!
